Conferences, workshops, seminars, webinars, and other activities related to the DTG

Following its intention to improve the visibility of digitalisation efforts in legal metrology, the DTG has developed partnerships with organisations such as IMEKO, the International Metrology Congress, and the International Conference on Weighing, in order to carry out joint activities. Recently, the DTG also started organising a first webinar series on digitalisation in legal metrology.

2024

In March 2024 the DTG, together with BIPM, coordinated the first international conference of the signatories of the Joint Statement of Intent. The conference took place at the BIPM in France back-to-back with the inaugural meeting of the CIPM Forum “Metrology and digitalisation”. The conference covered topics from the international quality infrastructure, scientific, and industrial perspectives.

In April 2024 the DTG initiated its first webinar series on Digitalisation in legal metrology. This first series contains four sessions:

2023

In March 2023 the DTG Chairperson organised a round table discussion on the impact of metrology in digital transformation at the International Metrology Congress (CIM) in Lyon, France. Representatives from the BIPM, the PTB, NIST, as well as from companies Endress+Hauser, Beamex, and Trescal participated in the round table.

On 29 March 2023 the DTG, together with IMEKO TC6, organised a webinar on blockchain technologies in metrology with presentations from NMI-A, EBSI, Random Red, PTB, NPL, and EUROLAB covering various aspects in the use and implementation of blockchain technologies. The event had over 200 registrations and over 130 live participants.

In April 2023 the DTG participated in the special session on digitalisation in legal metrology at the International Conference on Weighing in Hamburg, Germany.

Together with BIML and the CIML Presidential Council, the DTG organised a one-day seminar in October 2023 to discuss digitalisation topics in legal metrology. The outcomes from this seminar, which was attended by about 100 participants, were published in the January 2024 OIML Bulletin.

 

2022

In September 2022 the DTG organised a special session at the IMEKO TC6 International Conference on Metrology and Digital Transformation (M4Dconf2022). The special session consisted of three scientific presentations and a panel discussion with representatives from CEEMS, CECIP, the OIML-CS, NMI-A, and German market surveillance. The M4Dconf2022 was organised as a completely hybrid event and had 221 attendees, 44 scientific papers, 16 invited talks, and 16 sessions.
